What is Stainless Steel ER-318 Filler Wires?

Stainless Steel ER318 filler wires are high-alloy welding materials that are well suited for high corrosion and heat resistance especially in corrosive and high-temperature environments. They have 18-21% Chromium, 11-14% Nickel, 2-3% Molybdenum, 0.03% maximum Carbon, 1-2.5% Manganese, 0.30-0.65% Silicon, 0.045% maximum Phosphorus, 0.03% maximum Sulfur, and 0.10-0.30% Columbium (Niobium), increasing intergranular corrosion resistance. The stabilized form avoids carbide precipitation, and the welds remain strong and hard. They have excellent mechanical properties and weldability and are suitable for high-strength and corrosion-resistant welding.
