What is Multimet Coated Electrodes?

Multimet coated electrodes are made from a nickel-based core wire that includes around 24% chromium, 16% iron, 5% molybdenum, 0.5% cobalt, along with trace elements like carbon, manganese, and silicon. The flux coating enhances arc stability, provides shielding gas, and creates slag for clean, controlled welds. These electrodes boast a tensile strength of 100,000–120,000 psi, along with impressive creep resistance and thermal fatigue resistance at service temperatures reaching up to 1800°F (980°C). They allow for excellent control of the weld puddle and minimize cracking, making them ideal for welding Multimet base materials and other high-temperature, oxidation-resistant alloys.
