The weld metal deposited from E347‑16 electrodes typically contains ≤ 0.08% carbon, 18–21% chromium, 9–11% nickel, and up to 0.75% molybdenum, with niobium/tantalum at about 8×C (around 0.4–0.5%), along with manganese and silicon within AWS limits. The mechanical properties of the weld, as-welded, include a tensile strength of around 86,500 psi (approximately 595 MPa), yield strength close to 58,000 psi (around 400 MPa), and elongation of at least 30–35%.
